AUSTRALIAN MADE MOVIE EQUIPMENT

THE PYROX VICTOR 16 mm PROJECTOR

The PYROX Victor - removed from its housing

The Pyrox-Victor was made in Melbourne Australia by the Pyrox Company, under licence from the Victor Anamatograph Corporation from around 1940.

Despite the Australian 240 volt mains, it was assembled using US components and was for 110 volt operation, therefore requiring a 240 to 110 volt step-down transformer.

The amplifier was about the only part of it that was “made” in Australia.
