THE AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM OF MOTION PICTURE TECHNOLOGY INC.

The AMMPT has recently conducted a series of Inaugural Regional Meetings in various parts of
Australia. Unfortunately, information did not arrive in time for publication in the last edition of RD.

The organisation is attempting to bring together persons interested in presenting the heritage of the
Australia moving image industries – film production, exhibition and television, with the goal of
establishing a national network with common objectives.

       Their publicity brocher states -
The Australian Museum of Motion Picture Technology Inc. (AMMPT) is a not-for-profit body
incorporated in Western Australia, registered nationally with ASIC, and endorsed by the Australian
Taxation Office as a Charity with Tax concessions and as a Deductible Gift Recipient.

Our objective is to create a greater community awareness of Australia's contribution to the ongoing
evolution of the movie image industry by giving prominence to the technologies used, innovations
developed, and to the people, entities and related services involved.

Regional branches across Australia are responsible for their own autonomous operation within a
national policy framework. Each is in charge and has ownership of its own collection

Our long term goal is to establish permanent displays of our industry's heritage in all the main
centers. Items of special or national significance will be loaned to other branches and affiliated entities
       for temporary exhibition.

AMMPT has established a professional relationship with kindred Federal, State & community
museums, archives, private collectors both here and overseas. It supports and encourages community
organizations and private collectors by assisting them to gain the widest public exposure of their
       moving image related displays.

Membership of AMMPT includes those retired from or still working in either the film production or
exhibition sectors of the industry. Many private collectors, film historians and enthusiasts have also
       joined as volunteers.

A regular newsletter keeps all regions in touch with what the other is doing.
