Once again another piece of film history has been found thanks to the foresight of
a Film Collector.
The above article from the Melbourne Age details the find of an early Alfred
Hitchcock film in the New Zealand Film Archive. The film was left to the archive,
thanks to the foresight of the late Jack Murtagh, previously a member of the New
=HDODQG )LOPV %XIIV· $VVRFLDWLRQ

Fact:
The newspaper article says “Hollywood films were distributed ….”. White Shadow,
DORQJ ZLWK +LWFKFRFN·V HDUO\ ILOPV ZHUH made in England – it was not until 1939 that
he moved for the U.K. to the U.S.A.
