9.5mm & Super 9.5
We have the facilities to screen 9.5mm silent and optical sound films. As well, we
can screen DVD & Bluray discs, but the content must originate from a 9.5mm or
Super 9.5 Film. THERE IS NO ENTRY CHARGE, but if you want your discs or films
returned then please send stamps or International Postal Coupons to cover return
postage. Entries not returned will be put into the MIC Archives. Please send any
original 9.5mm films by registered by Post.

Morning Session 10am to 12 Noon
Participants are encouraged to bring their own 9.5mm movie camera, or use a
camera provided. Technical subjects like animation, slow & fast motion, film
stocks available, lighting techniques and E6 Colour Processing will be covered.
Artistic experiments with Hand Scratching, Hand Colouring and Direct Drawing on
film will be included, with the results screened. Later in the day. Participants will
receive a DVD copy of their films made on the day.
Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm
SCREENINGS OF SHORT FILMS BY 9.5mm FILMMAKERS
This will be followed by a special program of Pathescope films, which will
demonstrate the abilties of the 9.5mm gauge. Program will include: Classics
available on 9.5, Pathe’s notched title system, Pathecolor stencil color films,
9.5mm sound shorts, as well as Pathe’s own Pathe Color Film (PCF) from the
1950s. A special demonstartion of a 16mm sound film cut-down to 9.5m by LPG in
the UK. This film demonstrates just how good the 9.5mm gauge could have been
if Pathescope had not cut corners with their quality!
