Interested in Super 8 Film making?
Kodak’s latest email to those who expressed interest I their new Super 8
camera says …
Demand from people like you is
higher than we could have imag-
ined. To get your hands on one of
the first new Super 8 cameras we
build, be sure to join Kodak's Super
8 Collective. As a Collective mem-
ber, you'll get special offers on Su-
per 8 film and processing, as well as
regular updates from us. But best of
all, you'll be among the first in a
growing community of filmmakers
and creative visionaries with the op-
portunity to experience the first Super 8 camera developed in over 30 years.
I wonder if the statement “demand is high” is correct or a sales ploy? Current
estimates suggest that the camera will sell for approximately AU$3000.00. I
can’t see too many buyers at that price, except for the well heeled fanatics.
As one of the contributors to the review said …
I like retro. I have a bunch of apps specifically to turn 4K video into that old VHS look,
etc. But spending that much for something so limited - 2 or 3 minutes of video per
cartridge, and you have to send it off for developing? Along with the retro look, they're
bringing back the retro limitations. What next, replacing emails with couriers?
