Film and Film Collecting is alive and well.

In the centre pages of this edition you will find a double page spread of pictures
taken at the recent CATHS Cine Collectors’ Fair.

Held annually, the Fair has become a “must attend” for film collectors and
enthusiasts alike. Not only does the Fair offer a chance to find a few bargains,
but it is a great opportunity to catch up with fellow collectors for a chat, either
at the venue of over lunch after the event.
Of interest to old blokes like me, was the pleasing number of younger people
attending. There were several, young fellows who appeared to be in their teens
or early twenties perusing the offerings. The ladies were on hand as well, with
one lady offering vigorous bidding during the auction. This is a good sign for the
future of our great hobby.
There were a few collectors who had flown in from interstate, my guess is there
would have been a few extra dollars paid for over-weight allowances on the
return flights.

The Collectors’ Fair is an activity of the Cinema and Theatre Historical Society
