The ASHLEIGH Film Strip Projector

Remember all those great articles about the
Roama film strip projector recently, well I
wonder how many of us knew that the Roama
had a big brother.

Yeah the Ashleigh. Here we go again back to
the fifties. I was about 10 at the time, it was
Christmas morning and there under the tree
was my Roama projector. Then my mate Ron-
nie from up the road came down all excited, he
had an Ashleigh projector. Between the two of
us we put on many a show to anyone who
would watch.
Just recently on a trip to the Barossa Valley,
Ann and I visited an Opp Shop in the little
town of Mannum, and to our surprise we found
an Ashleigh strip projector in its original box
with its instruction sheet and Films, as well as
a complete list of Max Craft films. It’s only the
third Ashleigh I have ever come across.

The Ashleigh was manufactured in Australia
by visual toys Pty Ltd, and distributed by Boyd
Trading Company 364 Burwood Road Haw-
thorn Victoria.
