But with printing and postal costs continually rising (both increased as of 1 January this year),
once I get the accounts for printing and posting of this issue, I will have to re-assess the
subscription rate - more on that next time.
A special thanks to Kev Franzi for his continued support and for the many articles he has
contributed over a number of years. His knowledge built up over a lifetime in the industry and
his special way of putting his personal experiences into his articles makes for enjoyable reading,.
Finally, a thank you to you, the loyal subscribers and advertisers. This little magazine would not
be possible without your contributions.

REEL DEALS 1993 - 2023
Congratulations Mike!
30 years producing Reel Deals is – and I’m tempted to say a ”Reel” achieve-
ment, but I’m sure it’s already been said.
Your role in “Keeping the Collectors Connected” is greatly appreciated and is
in fact vital in so many ways beyond the interchange of gems of cinema and
its art, science and history in all its varied forms. It stimulates the Collectors
to pursue their vital role in preserving the amazing machines and artefacts
that made motion pictures and cinema possible across a century and beyond.
Without them these beautiful machines would be in the Dump and history
lost.
Your readers capture and preserve in their collections the moments, memo-
ries and magic of cinema that illustrate the vast depth of amazing talent
revealed in every aspect of film making -- and every reel of film captures and
preserves that talent at its peak to be enjoyed over and over again – if we are
lucky ----.
Mike, thanks for all the time and effort, the experience, knowledge and
enthusiasm you put into Reel Deals – it is greatly appreciated. And thanks to
Barbara for giving you the support that makes it possible.
Kev. Franzi.
