When, during the beautiful Cypress Gardens se-
quence of THIS IS CINERAMA, an outboard motorboat
seems to soar over the heads of the audience and land
full tilt on the screen, when the choristers move slowly
and invisibly down the side aisles singing the mighty
"Hallelujah" from Handel's "Messiah" before appear-
MUSIC ing corporeally on the screen, when the voices of the
soloists at Milan's famous la Scala Opera emerge from
AND the screen directly at the point you see the singer-then
you have the full magic of Cinerama's revolutionary
new sound system. It is sound with a fidelity never before
SOUND achieved on the screen, sound with a subtlety of direc-
tion heard nowhere else outside of a "live" presentation .
. For Cinerama sound, seven separate sound tracks
are prepared. Five power the battery of "hi-fl" loud-
speakers behind the screen, one track for each speaker.
