shown. The creators of this landmark musical were no longer alive to see the love and affection that audiences still held for
Oklahoma!. Back in 1955 they had both declared "You never argue with an audience. They're always right, and they love the
movie of Oklahoma!." Oh what a beautiful movie!
Author's Lament
The confusion about Oklahoma! and the arrogance towards
customers demonstrated by Fox Home Entertainment can only lead
one to the conclusion that the company in this instance has no sense
of occasion or recognition. The attitude and marketing strategies of
this company are highly questionable when consumer enquires
become "an interview with a vampire".
It was the educated and informed home cinema enthusiasts who got
the DVD format off the ground and made it a rousing success. Now
we no longer matter because we are outnumbered by an uninformed
collective group who run the film industry today with no idea of
what made it tick yesterday.

The disregard for Oklahoma's 50 birthday and the failure by the
decision makers in the Fox corridors of power, to recognise it as a
masterpiece of cinema, with a track record of enormous commercial
and marketing success needs to be challenged and an explanation
given. But! As Helen Reddy once sang, "It's so nice to be insane! No one asks you to explain!"
