This interesting page advertisement for the Walturdaw Bioscope was sent to me
recently.

It would seem that the advertisement was a reprint in another magazine, as it came with
a caption at the bottom saying -
“The Walturdaw company goes back a long way, as this advertisement from the early
years of the (last) century reveals. Note particularly the eye-poking spools and the note
in the summary on the right that ‘No Experts Required to Operate’. A real ‘flicker’
machine with a one-bladed shutter.”

Hand written notes on the sheet suggest the company may have had shares in a Eye
Hospital with those spools and that with ‘No Experts Required ..” the machine may still
be of interest to today’s complex “operators” !
