Home movies bring big prices on eBay

It seems that home movies depicting any important event or those showing
scenes from the 1930s and 1940s are selling for quite high prices.

Some time back, a regular advertiser in Reel Deals told me that he was
surprised that the winning bidder had paid excess of $1000.00 for a large
box of 8 mm home movies that he had advertised.

He enquired as to what the buyer wanted with home movies, and was
surprised to find the guy had brought them as they involved holiday
footage from a round-world trip in the 1950s, and that he was a “stock
        footage” dealer.

With the world’s TV channels devouring programs at the current rate, it is
not surprising that this type of material is in demand.

        Question to ponder:
Will home video footage bring similar prices in the future?
