FILM SHOWS and the Promotion of Film
The Corporation of the Town of Walkerville, an Adelaide suburb, has decided to
put on two film shows during South Australia’s History Month in May—one for
primary school children and one for adults. The estimated attendance for each
is 100 or more. Not bad for the second smallest council area in Australia, with
only 7,000 residents.
Perhaps one way to promote 16 mm film would be for those with projectors
to approach their local councils and schools offering to show reel-to-reel movies
at history oriented events.
I am lucky in that I have access to several thousand films held at the Flinders
University.
