9 X 9 FILM FESTIVAL & HOME MOVIE DAY REPORT
Celebrating the 95th Anniversary of 9.5 mm (1922-2017 )
Five 9.5 mm productions were presented as part of the
9x9 movie day, these were
A Vintage Year by Cliff Perriam (UK).
A Transport Documentary on Double Decker Buses
and Trams. Made 2014, 5 minutes.
Goodbye Blighty by Graham Murray (UK).
To mark the centenary of the start of the Great War, it
tells the story of the small seaside town of Folke-
stone’s key role in the War as the main artery through
which troops passed on their way to the Western Front.
Made 2015, 10 minutes.
La Petroleuse by Jean Penavayre (France)
An ancient mechanic manufactures old cars, his first is
an 1895 reproduction, with a Benz motor and no
steering wheel but a handlebar. 2005, 7 minutes.
Retromobile by Jean Penavayre (France)
A look at early vehicles. A steam vehicle from 1770
by Fardier de Cugnot. An Electric car from 1894 by
Charles Jeantaud. The first car made by Louise Re-
nault in 1898 and the La Voiturelle of Decouville also
1898. 2010, 10 minutes.
Furtive Rencontre by Paul Bigou (France)
Set in a Classic Time, of Music, Art, Dancing and fine
Dinning. 2005, 32 minutes
The submitted films were followed by a selection of
HOME MOVIES on 9.5 mm film. These included a
colour film of the French Country side, a voyage on a
cruise ship from France to the USA, and scenes in
USA, circa 1960 30 minutes
The event was held plit over two weekends and held
at Ed’s Giant Reel Cinema and Chilternwood Cinema
in Chiltern Vic.
