ANDAMOOKA - SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Sitting out in the open at
Andamooka SA, is this pair of
35 mm projectors.
They appear to be a pair of
Benbow motion heads with
Gaumont Kaylee arc lamp-
houses.
The centre picture shows
that the anamorphic lenses
and still attached. They are
complete with the rectifiers
and even the exhaust flues.
Of course in the big cities,
similar (and much later
made) equipment has simply
been dumped or has gone to
the scrap metal buyers.
It is interesting to speculate
about these machines. The
CATHS cinema database
(www.caths.org.au) does not
record a venue, either indoor
or outdoor at Andamooka.
