The centre pages of this issue contain some pictures from the annual CATHS Cine
Collectables Fair which was held in Melbourne on the 15 May.

This was the first Fair to be held for some time due to the various Covid restrictions
that have been in place over the past two and a half years.

There was a lot on offer from the many sellers who, in some cases, had pre-booked
tables several weeks ahead of the day. It would seem that the time in lock-down was
not wasted, lots of films and equipment were on offer. Most sellers walked away with
a smile on their faces.

Unfortunately, it is believed “Covid reluctance” played a part in keeping the number
of buyers down. Despite promotions on the Internet and on Golden Days Radio in the
weeks leading up to the event.

The Golden Days Radio live outside broadcast from the hall created a lot of interest,
with several of the participants being interviewed live on air.

With the uncertainty around the future of Covid, and with the number of infections
still alarmingly high, people’s reluctance to gather in a relatively small hall is
understandable. We can only hope that by this time next year, we will see it disappear
and things can get back to normal.
