Bill Hawley was a first class
auto mechanic and under his
home at Norman Park
(Brisbane) he had built up a
very well equipped workshop.
Bill was also a 16mm Amateur
Film enthusiast and member of
the Queensland Amateur Cine
Society. Through
his interest he had established
a long association with the
Brisbane based company
Cameracraft Film Productions.

Over the years Bill made up all
sorts of bits and pieces to assist
Cameracraft in their film
making. Then came the
challenge he could not resist.
Cameracraft desperately
needed a good animation stand
