number of titles) made by the Jam Handy Organization would exceed the total output in
that time of all the Hollywood studios combined. This is together with an estimated
100,000 35mm filmstrip productions made by the organization at that time. Truly “The
land of opportunity” ----.

Television started to make its
presence felt – nothing for
Hollywood to worry about at
first, it was still “The Golden
Years” for them. Certainly TV
was regarded as the enemy but
Hollywood had glamour and
colour and production value on
the big screen with an even
bigger one up its sleeve.

problems associated with high
speed machinery and for scientific
analysis. This camera could shoot
10,000 frames per second that
exposed 400ft of film in 2 seconds.
The son of Fastax a later 8mm
version could shoot 32,000 fps
because of the low film inertia.
