Both Pathe and Williamson cameras were using the Latham
Loop early in the new century.
By the mid twentieth century, single and dual 4 frame Feed and Take-up sprockets were being
installed in 35mm camera magazines to simplify threading and speed-up magazine change time
for newsreel and documentary production. In this French Cameflex magazine (below) the
Latham Loops are inside the magazine too. And then Cinemas around the world began gearing
up to install new “Platter Systems” that were made possible by the Latham Loop. A far cry from
the 50 ft. roll – thanks Mr Rector.
