             AUGUST - ••FESTIVAL of BRITAIN ....

          Surprisingly, there were very few
entries for the August "Festival of
        Britain" Competition. This, no doubt,
was due largely to many prospective
        competitors being away for the
        annual holiday and the consequent
saving of film for such an occasion.
The award of £5 Os. Od. was made to
        Mr. Holder of Winchester, whose
film was devoted entirely to scenes of
the South Bank Exhibition. Using his
wife as the central character, and
with the aid of the official guide book,
        Mr. Holder made a comprehensive
tour of the majority of the exhibition
buildings. The final scenes were shot
late at night and the illustration shows
        the landmark of the exhibition.

        NOVEMBER ~OMPETITION
It has been decided that no competition will be organised for November,
but that a special contest to cover the Christmas festivities will be announced
in the December issue of this magazine.
