Splicing Tape: My apologies to any one who purchased the Office Works tape and
then it wouldn’t fit their 16mm splicer. I have been using it on my 35mm splicer and
it fits and feeds nicely. The amount of tape on the reel exceeds the cavity size on
most 16mm splicers - of course half of the tape can be would onto another reel or an
adaptor can be made up.
Mystery Object: Thanks to all those who got in touch - The device was a machine for
applying silver foil to 16mm film to activate the automation sensor on the telecine -
primarily used by TV stations when the programs were received on 16mm film.
