Part of the day’s filming was a sequence in which the actor playing Herschell was
sitting mid way in the cinema. He was filmed from the back row watching the screen,
and when the film came to an end he had to rise, put on his hat and walk to the right
and through the still running projector light beam. For various reasons, this sequence
was shot over a dozen times, each time I was required to rethread the projector and
rerun the same bit of 35 mm film. They say film making is hard work - I certainly agree!

The group are hoping that their documentary will be screened on the ABC sometime
in the new year.
