A SELECTION OF SPLICERS FROM KEV’S COLLECTION
                            The Premier joiner (British) used a cutting disk and scraper on a
                            separate hand-piece. Not the best arrangement but certainly better
                            than hand splicing.

















                                     A Kodascope Universal Splicer (c. 1932 - USA). This is
                                     a splicer that has real character, known as “The Frog "
                                           because  of  the  way  the  R.H.  film  clamp  leaps
                                           across  on  four  pivoting  struts  to  join  the
                                           prepared  film  on  the  L.H.  platen.  Before  that
                                          happens, the film is positioned under the clamps,
                                           then  the  twin  armed  cutter  swings  down
                                           trimming  both  pieces  of  film.  A  very  large
                                           serrated scraper slides back and forth to remove
                                          the  emulsion,  film  cement  is  applied  and  “The
                                          Frog” leaps across to make the join. I love it! An
                                         early 30's design for both 8 and 16mm.


        Another little gem, the “Exacta” Australia c.  The  Minette  from  Japan  is
