                                The Kodascope Model B – Auto Thread of 1928


        Kodak introduced their Model B projector in 1928 – this was quite unique, as it was an
        Auto Thread projector. The auto thread mechanism is quite effective and at least as
        reliable as the well-know brand of the 1960s /1970s. In the thread position, the two
        silver arm above and below the mechanism close (as shown in above picture), whilst
        the two arms above and below the lower reel (above) are closed within the take up
        reel. Once the film is threaded and engaged on the take up, the arms release and the
        projector operates normally.

        Further models continued; these included the models C and D, very similar in
        appearance and performance. The models B, C and D, all had the light source off- set
        and incorporated a 90 degree mirror behind the film to reflect the light into the
        projection path.
