Many films wanted by collectors were at "16mm Australia” in Flinders St. Melbourne,
before the big clean out by film companies.
Old films in sheds etc. for years can be re-erected again. I have cleaned and lubricated
my entire stock. They run in projectors perfectly, if kept away from sun and heat.

I have gained a fair bit of knowledge over the years, I started with Hoyts in Albury, my
home town, at the age of 15. I spent 24 years working in electrical by day and in the
theatre by night at the Kiewa Works Motion Picture Club at the SECV, Mt Beauty. I
took over and running of Mt Beauty for 16 years. They ran 6 locations, 4 in camps, 1
at Bogong and 1 at the Mt Beauty Big Theatre.
I transferred with SEC to Yallourn in Gippsland managing all 16 mm operations till the
end after 22 years, with a total of 46 years in all. I now run an Eiki and Bell & Howell
TQ1-2-3. I enjoying open air shows for summer.

I have learnt a lot by servicing 16 mm & 35 mm, which has come in handy since Bell
& Howell in Melbourne have closed down, parts are now a problem. I was very lucky
working for SEC, my supervisor was a licensed projectionist. He was a great coach in
AC-Dig sound in general, I topped scores in exams thanks to him.

For now, keep those projectors running.

Has anybody got any information on The Sullivans - Australian Film "War" it was at 16
mm Australia for years.
