With Standard 8mm, the sound was recorded onto a magnetic
stripe located on the same side of the film as the perforations, it
was applied to the very small area between the perforations and
the edge of the film.

The projector is designed for both recording and playback. It was
supplied microphone which could be stored within the front
cover. There are input sockets for the microphone as well as other
audio sources on the rear of the unit. Speed can be set to 18 or 24
frames per second for recording or playback.
