                                                      Cinecamera

From correspondence and from visitors calling we have been a little
concerned to learn that some of our customers have experienced difficulty in
loading films in their "PAT" cinecameras. In some instances we have found
that there has been a complete disregard for the instruction book for these
customers have just placed the film in and closed the presser pad and door of
the cinecamera without verifying that they have done so correctly by viewing
the passage of a short length of film through the gate. In these really few
instances the obvious thing is to point out that the instructions are really essential
         and should be carefully observed.
Apart from this it does seem advisable to point out that with the " PAT"
Cinecamera a single claw is employed for passing the film through the gate and
that this claw may come to rest between perforations at the end of a shot.
To effect correction, within one frame, it is necessary to turn the inching
knob whilst depressing the starting knob.
With new and unfamiliar apparatus we may all be inclined to "panic" when
things seem to go wrong, but if the foregoing points are observed you will
experience no difficulty in making your exposures.
                 TO PLACJE CHARGER IN POSITION
                                                                 D
Open the presser pad. Make sure the film
guideway is clean. Withdraw about ha lf an
inch of film from the upper slot of the charger,
taking care not to pull film from the lower • 1 ot.
Failure to observe this point may result in the
film becoming detached from the take-up
bobbin. Place the charger in the motocamera
so that the take-up dogs are engaged in t ,
charger winding core. The film must pass be-
tween the film guideway D and the presser pad
        E. as in illustration. If nec, essary press into
place with the finger. Make sure that the film
is correctly aligned in the film guideway. Run
two or three inches of film through in order to
take up any slack fi'm, then close presser pad.
Before finally closing the camera lid again be
sure that the film is correctly threaded by run-
ninq a few inches of fi'm while holding the
charger in position. Refit the lid.
