               \Vind up the loose film by hand, turning the take-up rn li to  the
             right in the direction indicated by the arrow, as show11  in  l~'i g .  36,
             then continue projection.  Be sure the loop guides 20  :~rr c l  21 are
            open,  as in Fig.  36,  before projection is  continued.
              If it  is desired to splice the film  at once,  proceed as  roil  ws:
              Leave the upper and lower reels in position.  Remov l  Lhe  film
            from around the frame of  the pull-down  mechanism a· d  cribed
            on pages 38, 39 and 40, then draw the ends of the film 0 11 !,.  Ir ollow
            the splicing directions  on pages 43, 44 and 45.  After  tiro splice is
            made, wind up the slack film on the upper reel,  taking cn.r  not to
            strain the splice by a sudden jerk before it is thoroughly set.  Re-
            thread  the Kodascope  by  hand, as  described  on page.·  7 to  17,
            making  sure that the upper and lower  loops  27  and  2, , Fig.  13,
            page 17, are of the correct size,  and continue projection.
