NOW Calling for Entries
                     for the 2014  9X9 Film Festival


             9 X 9 Film Festival will be held in GEELONG on a Saturday in NOVEMBER
                          (Date wil be advised in the September RD)

        9.5mm  & Super 9.5 entries welcome.  Facilities to screen 9.5mm in Silent / Optical sound will be
        available, as well as (PAL,NTSC,SECAM) DVD (PAL,NTSC) Bluray.

        Digital copies  must originate from 9.5mm or Super 9.5 film transfer. (Any original 9.5mm films
        must be sent registered post, to avoid being lost).
        THERE IS NO ENTRY CHARGE, but if you want your discs or films returned then please send
        Stamps or International Postal Coupons for return postage.

        PROGRAM

        Morning Session 10am to 12 Noon
        WORKSHOP “PROCESSING 9.5mm E-6 Color”
        Participants are encouraged to bring their own 9.5mm movie camera, or use a camera provided on
        the day. Technical subjects like animation, slow & fast  motion,  available film stocks, E-6 colour
        processing and lighting techniques will be covered..
        Other techniques will include artistic scratching, colouring and drawing on film. The results will
        then be screened. Participants will receive a DVD copy of their films made on the day.
        Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm
        SCREENING OF FESTIVAL ENTRIES + DEMONSTRATION 9.5mm FILMS

        The afternoon program will include the screening of the results of the 9X9 experimental  workshop,
        as well as festival entries from Australian and Overseas Filmmakers.
        Also included will be a screening of  some 9.5mm commercial films - these will include a
        demonstration of 9.5mm Pathecolor film – (a two minute film in Pathé stencil color). Some 9.5mm
        sound films, and a demonstration of the Pathe notched film system. This will be  followed by a
        demonstration of the potential of 9.5mm sound, (which Pathéscope never achieved), from a 16mm
        film which was cut down and reperforated to 9.5mm.
            The location will be in at Mike Trickett’s CINEPIX home cinema in West Geelong.
