A MAN OF VISION
I have previously mentioned the “men of vision”
who contributed so much to our film industry –
let me add one more. His name is Henry Jamison
Handy, a man with an amazing history that is
little known in Australia except perhaps for a few
16mm film collectors who have noticed the
Credit Title – A Jam Handy Production. This
briefly is his story.
After a series of very rough teenage experiences,
at the age of 20 Jamison Handy discovers the key
to brilliant salesmanship – Wow! in America
that’s worth its weight in gold. It was based on
his research into why people buy a certain
product in preference to others in the same range.
He found it was usually because they knew more
about that product – and that was the key.
Jamison realized that the best way to illustrate
his exciting ideas was to use 35mm motion
pictures and quickly equipped himself with the
