This combined cradle and pan and tilt head for the Pathescope B type camera
      is in four main parts.
The platform "A" is a piece of *" sheet brass 3" x 2". A hole is drilled and
tapped in the centre of this platform to suit the tripod screw, and another hole
is drilled and tapped I" from the end to take a *" countersunk-head screw.
The L_j shaped bracket "B" is made from a piece of t" brass strip i" wide
by 7" long, and bent as shown. Before bending, a *" clearance hole is drilled
in the centre, and a 2-B.A. clearance hole is drilled t'' from each end. The brass
strip is then bent to shape .

The tray or cradle "C" for holding the camera is made from :fz" sheet brass
and is 4" long by 2-[r,-" wide (these are inside measurements). The depth of the
cradle is f'. After bending to shape, a 2-B.A. cheese head screw is soldered
in the dead centre of both long sides of the tray.
The L_j shaped bracket "B" is now sprung over the 2-B.A. screws on the
cradle, the bracket then being fitted over the *" screw in the platform "A".
Before screwing up, fit spring washers under the nuts, and adjust so that although
everything is rigid when screwed together, the rotating movement of the bracket
and the tilting movement of the cradle is smooth.

                             Various Types of Masks
The fitting "D" is a refinement which is not an essential part of the pan and
tilt movement, but enables the user to make wipes when filming, or use masks to
give "keyhole" and "telescope" effects on the film. It also enables gelatine
filters to be used for experiments etc. It is made of -h" brass strip I" wide,
and slides in a brass runner made of the same material, soldered to the bottom
of the cradle. It could be fixed direct to the cradle, but it is far better to h.ave
