Place the reel of film or upply reel 23 on the supply spindle 24,
lt'ij.!;. 17, so that the film draws from the lop of reel, with the shiny
Hide of film towards the center of the reel,* and with the pictures
upHide down. Be sure Lhat the supply reel is pushed all the way
i 11 HO that the spring on the spindle snaps into position.
Before inserting the end of the film into the self-threading de-
viec, first check the parts 20, 21, 22, 31, 32 and 33, and make sure
lhnse are in the positions as shown in Fig. 17.
The loop guide control lever 22 must be pushed all the way over
Lo Lhe word "THREAD." This closes the loop guides 20 and 21.
'l'h direction switch 31, indicating the direction in which the film
will Lravel, must be turned to the word "FORWARD." The still
picLu rc lever 32 for projecting still pictures, must be turned to the
word "RUN," and the motor switch 33 that turns on the motor
rnuRL be at the word "OFF."
