24- Instructions for the operation
Fig. 20, page 23, shows the Kodascope set up and properly
threaded, ready for projecting.
Be sure that the loop guides 20 and 21 are closed when thread-
ing the film into the Kodascope, using the self-threading feature.
If the loop guides 20 and 21 are left open, or if the end of the
film is not square (see Fig. 18, page 22), the film will not thread
properly, and will back up and come out of the opening i11 the
upper loop guide 20. If this should happen, turn .the dire t.ion
switch 31, Fig. 20, page 23, to the word "REVERSE" and the fi.lm
will return at once to the supply reel 23. Close the loop guicl s 20
and 21 or cut the end of the film square as described on pa!l:e 22,
and rethread the film into the Kodascope. Before again tur11inr; on
the motor switch 33 be sure that the direction switch 31 has b en
turned to the word "FORWARD-"
Operation
Set up the KodascopeScreen so that the center of it is about on
a line with the lens of the Kodascope. Descriptions of the I oda-
scope Screens are given on pages 46 and 47.
On account of the different sizes of the Kodascope Screen ·, the
distances between the screen and the lens of the Kodascope will
vary. The distances will also vary with the different focal 1· ngths
of the lenses used on the Kodascopes. The correct dista11e are
given in the following table :

The size of the projected light area on the screen is regu l1tLo l by
varying the distance between the Kodascope and the screen.
Vertical adjustment to center the picture on the screen llla.y be
made by turning the elevating lever 37, Fig. 20, page 23 ; a,11 ad-
ditional adjustment may be made by unscrewing the Plr ttting
foot under the base.
