of the film is securely attached to the core, give the reel 23 a few
turns to the left or counter-clockwise. See that the film is not
twisted; a film can be ruined by careless rewinding_ . .
                                                        ~(
Turn the direction switch 31, Fig. 23, to the word "REWIND."
Fig. 23 shows this switch in the proper position for rewinding the
film. Now turn the motor switch 33, Fig. 23, to the word "ON."
While the motor is running, release the rewind knob 42, Fig. 21,
page 25, and Fig. 23 .. by pulling it out as far as it will go, then
move the knob .in the direction indicated by the arrow near the
word "REWIN.I ." The lever 43, Fig. 23, will spring up and hold
the rewind knob in p , ition, the end of the shaft connected to the
rewind knob wil l fiL in the notch on lever 43, as shown in Fig. 23
            and in the diagram.
When rewinding Lhe film, the motor should be running at its
greatest speed, pu,.hing the knob 34, Fig. 21, page 25, all the way
            to the top.
While rewind. in g, the hand may be used as a brake on the
I wer reel to insure the 6lm winding snugly on the upper reel.
Do not bear clown hard with the hand when using it as a brake or
Lhe film will be wound too tiohtly and it will be liable to break. Be
careful not to usc Loo mu ch pressure with the hand, or the film will
" cinch" and produ ces ratches. Allow the film to run freely.
After the filrn has b ,en rewound, stop the motor by turning
Lhe motor switch. 0:3, Jl'icr. 23, to the word "OFF." The rewind

[ rmer positions by turning the loop guide control lever 22 to the
word "THREAD." Thi, brings the end of the shaft connected
Lo the rewin] knob <12, out of the notch and directly above the
lever 43, which is Lhc correct position for projection.
Films obtained from the Kodascope Libraries, Inc., should not
be rewound when t hey are returned to the Library.

                       Use of the Kodascope Rewind
To avoid the unnecessary delay needed to rewind the film with
Lhe Kodascope immediately after projection, we recommend the
use of a Kodascope Rewind. This can be obtained as an accessory.
I y using the Rewind the film can be rewound while the next or
r llowing reel is being projected. It will also be found very con-
v nient when editing your reels of film.
